Areas of Practice:
- Eating Disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, negative beliefs about body size that determine your self-worth, “yo-yo dieting” and compulsive/emotional eating.
- Teenagers and Children: peer relationships, school problems (behavioral and learning), suicidality, self-harm, difficulties with relationships/sexual boundaries, depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol problems, constant fighting with parents, etc.
- Family: alignment of parenting styles, setting age-appropriate boundaries for children and teens, working as a family to manage dangerous behaviors or illness in one family member, finding ways to stay emotionally connected and preserving marital relationship in the midst of family demands.
- Navigation of Life Transitions: job changes, birth of children, adoption, launching children from home, balancing work/school/extracurricular activities/family demands (pace of living), divorce, step-family issues, parenting children with special needs, caring for young children and aging parents.
- Adult Children of Alcoholics: help for family members impacted by drug and alcohol use or recovery.
- Trauma: history of/or current difficulties with physical, sexual or emotional abuse and neglect (parent or child).
- Difficulty with Moods: depression, anxiety and mood regulation problems.
- Consultation: for medical doctors who are attempting to address/determine how a patient’s psychological status is impacting medical treatment.
- Supervision: for therapists-in-training
